Group Therapy

Groups meet weekly or every other week and are typically with the same group of people. The isolation many experience deteriorates when in group. A deeper level of awareness and honesty is often experienced, and dynamics that are experienced in other relationships often come up in the group process. We consider the group a laboratory to practice in real time what he or she would like to do in other relationships outside of the group room. Our groups range from a focus on tasks, process oriented, educational, and experiential.

Healing Running Group

Suggested for those experiencing withdrawal symptoms.

The Healing Running Group will give you many physiological benefits as well as help rewire your Brain. When we struggle during a time of change it is because our bodies rebel physiologically. If you are feeling a constant sense of unease such as body aches, nausea, rapid heartbeat, insomnia, shortness of breath, etc., running is one of the fastest ways to normalize your body and help produce a sense of harmony and well-being.

An individualized training program will be tailored according to your fitness level, with a training plan to follow in between sessions. Processing will occur before, during, and after each group. If you would like, nutrition recommendations will be provided based on fitness, goals, and recovery process.

This group is led by Sanya Syrstad, MA, LCPC, CSAT-C, a seasoned clinical professional counselor who is a world class tri-athlete in her age group. Sanya is also a certified coach in the Pose method of running with a focus on running technique.

Please schedule a meeting with Sanya at 630-752-9874 extension 4 to sign up.
